TRUNK Co., Ltd., developer of the TRUNK(HOTEL) brand (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yoshitaka Nojiri), is pleased to announce that TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO is scheduled to open in Sapporo, Hokkaido, 17 September 2027.

TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO will mark the brand’s first property outside of its home base of Tokyo, following TRUNK(HOTEL) CAT STREET, TRUNK(HOUSE), and TRUNK(HOTEL) YOYOGI PARK. The hotel will continue TRUNK’s localised approach to hospitality, grounding the guest experience in a deep understanding of its locale - from its landscape, history, and culture, to its character and traditions.

TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO
​TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO will be located in the heart of Sapporo, in the Odori district, and will present the group’s debut spa experience - ‘TRUNK(BATH HOUSE)’. The hotel will also feature an outpost of the acclaimed Sushi Saito restaurant and an all-day dining restaurant offering local Hokkaido cuisine, banquet rooms, and a lounge and bar hosting a programme of live entertainment.

TRUNK(BATH HOUSE)
​TRUNK(BATH HOUSE) will offer a total of ten unique bathing spaces, inviting guests to relax and unwind. The spa experience will begin in a reception area that opens onto a waterway, guiding guests seamlessly into the bathing rooms. Ten bathing environments have been designed to stimulate the senses through subtle variations in temperature, light, and sound. Large communal baths, high-temperature saunas, cold-water baths, and open-air relaxation spaces will further enhance the experience.

Additional Facilities

Sushi Saito Restaurant ​
​Sushi Saito, the famed Edo-style sushi bar which has captivated gourmands the world over, will open an outpost within TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO. By combining traditional Tokyo sushi technique with ingredients and cuisine unique to Hokkaido, the restaurant will create a distinctive sushi offering that reflects the flavours of the region. Counter seating will invite guests to watch the chefs craft each piece of artisanal sushi.

All Day Dining Restaurant
​The all-day dining restaurant will present a varied menu that showcases seasonal ingredients local to Hokkaido and its rich natural environment.

Lounge & Bar ​
​The TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO Lounge & Bar will be a comfortable environment in which to enjoy a vibrant programme of live music, drinks and dining. An outdoor terrace, complemented by private domed spaces, will offer guests expansive views of Sapporo and its changing seasonal landscapes.

Guest Rooms ​
​The design of the hotel’s 107 guest rooms (89 standard rooms + 18 suites) will draw on Hokkaido’s local craft traditions and natural materials, presented from a contemporary perspective.

Banquet Rooms
​Three banquet halls will be available on-site: HINATA, a bright space filled with natural light; MIYABI, inspired by historic European halls; and KODACHI, a space surrounded by forestry. The three halls will offer a variety of settings for weddings, parties, business meetings, and other events. Bespoke menus will be crafted to suit each space and complemented by facilities such as a dessert room, sushi counter, and terrace with a pizza oven.

Private Studio Spaces
​Private spaces will be available for hire as event venues for occasions such as birthday parties, ceremonies, baby showers, and anniversaries, as well as business events including exhibitions, pop-ups, and presentations. Alongside a multi-function room, a cinema and karaoke room will also be available.

About Sushi Saito
