Seasonal Activations at TRUNK(HOTEL) CAT STREET

TRUNK(HOTEL) CAT STREET invites guests to mark the winter season with a series of thoughtfully curated on-site initiatives. The celebrations include a three-day TRUNK Winter Market featuring hands-on workshops, bespoke shopping opportunities, and event-exclusive food and drink. Festive culinary offerings highlighting seasonal Japanese ingredients and flavours will be presented at TRUNK(KITCHEN) and the TRUNK(STORE), while the TRUNK (LOUNGE) will host a special installation by the Japanese craft collective Straft.

TRUNK Winter Market

Staying guests and visitors alike are invited to explore the annual TRUNK Winter Market, taking place from 23–25 December on the hotel’s public terrace. Centered on cultivating connection, the event will present a curated programme of food, drink, and music.

Highlight food and beverage offerings include winter warmers such as beef piroshki simmered in red wine and aromatic vegetables, and an onion gratin soup topped with a puff-pastry crust. These will be paired with seasonal cocktails such as the IRISH HONEY, and the NOCTURNE ROUGE - a mulled wine sweetened with house-made dried fruit syrup.

The market will also feature a variety of pop-up shops. The TRUNK VINTAGE STORE will offer a curated selection of the hotel’s previously loved furnishings and tableware; illustrator Little Funny Face will host a stall selling cards, calendars, and stickers; and fashion resellers pour elles will present a handpicked assortment of vintage pieces.

Music will be provided by multiple DJs throughout the event including sets by NICO and Kosuke Kamata.

Visitors are also invited to join flower-arranging workshops led by TRUNK’s floral coordinators, where they can create seasonal arrangements. The workshops are open to all ages.

Festive Culinary Offerings at TRUNK(KITCHEN) and TRUNK(STORE)

To celebrate the festive season, TRUNK(KITCHEN) will offer a limited-edition menu on 24–25 December. The six- and seven-course dinners feature an array of carefully sourced seasonal ingredients, with highlights including sweet shrimp from Hokkaido, leeks from Iwate, and premium Houyu beef from Kyushu.

TRUNK(STORE) will also introduce a festive addition to its offering - the La Noël Christmas Cake. This gluten-free cheesecake is topped with an abundance of Benihoppe strawberries and muscat grapes, sourced in collaboration with Bonchi, a Yamanashi-based startup dedicated to cultivating high-quality fruits with reduced pesticide use and fully ripened harvesting. Bonchi also strives to address broader agricultural challenges, from nurturing the next generation of farmers and passing on cultivation techniques to revitalizing abandoned farmland.

TRUNK(LOUNGE) Installation: Piece to Form by Straft 

Open now through 31 March 2026, TRUNK(HOTEL) CAT STREET is showcasing Piece to Form, an installation by the Tokyo-based craft collective Straft. Working with rice straw, the group transforms this traditional material into striking works of art, furniture, and architectural pieces.

For this installation, geometric forms and lighting objects crafted from woven straw are integrated throughout the TRUNK(LOUNGE) space, highlighting the material’s rich texture and its interplay with the surrounding environment. The work also pays homage to Japanese craftsmanship, drawing inspiration from shimekazari - rice-straw decorations traditionally displayed during the New Year.
