SUMMER DINING IN TOKYO, BY TRUNK

As warmer months settle over Tokyo, TRUNK’s collection of dining destinations offers a variety of ways to enjoy summer in the city. Whether escaping the heat with a refreshing drink poolside or discovering local flavours tucked away in Shibuya’s side streets, TRUNK invites guests to explore a range of dining experiences.

Tomigaya: Rooftop cocktails and alfresco dining

At TRUNK(HOTEL) YOYOGI PARK, summer evenings unfold beside the rooftop pool. Hotel guests can enjoy refreshing seasonal cocktails alongside freshly shucked oysters, seafood plates, and light bites in an inviting golden-hour setting above the city.

As evening settles in, PIZZERIA L’OMBELICO on the ground floor becomes a popular neighbourhood destination offering a relaxed yet refined take on traditional Italian dining. Overlooking the greenery of Yoyogi Park, the restaurant serves wood-fired pizzas and seasonal dishes, thoughtfully incorporating fresh Japanese ingredients into classic Italian recipes. For leisurely summer evenings, takeaway is also available, ideal for an al fresco dinner in the nearby park.

Cat Street: Comfort food and kushi culture

TRUNK(HOTEL) CAT STREET's two on-site dining venues - TRUNK(KITCHEN) and TRUNK(KUSHI) - serve as vibrant social hubs, reflecting the property's emphasis on community, connection, and shared experiences.

Guests are invited to begin with cocktails at the hotel bar before settling into TRUNK(KITCHEN), where comfort food is reimagined through Japanese ingredients and seasonal flavours. The all-day menu moves effortlessly from casual small plates to dinner, making it an easy place to linger late into the evening.

TRUNK(KUSHI) celebrates the local food culture of kushi (grilled skewers). Known as Shibuya's ‘soul food’. The menu offers a casual and lively way to spend the night in an izakaya setting with plenty of outdoor seating.

Kagurazaka: A private Tokyo evening

For guests seeking complete privacy, TRUNK(HOUSE) offers a slower pace. Tucked away in Kagurazaka, the single-occupancy luxury hospitality offering presents an exclusive culinary experience centred around its in-house private chef, who curates bespoke local and international menus from the property’s open kitchen.

Guests of TRUNK(HOUSE) are also invited to take part in a tea ceremony experience, where a dedicated host shares insights into the tradition and guides guests in the appreciation of the tea, offering a deeper understanding of its cultural significance within an atmospheric setting.

Whether it’s a takeaway pizza in Yoyogi Park, skewers on Cat Street, or a private dinner in Kagurazaka, TRUNK offers countless ways to enjoy a summer evening in Tokyo.
